SRC Brings In Snacks' Corner

The Students Representative Council of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism has provided the students with snacks corner to help improve their satisfaction.

This was in response to the complaints from the students about the unfriendly service from the cafeteria.

Speaking with some students about the service of T-Green Event Management, Patricia Bassey, a student of National Diploma 1, said “My view concerning the new snacks corner is the fact that it’s good. Right from the time I entered into NIJ, the one place I’ve known is the Esther’s Cooking Pot and it has always been either rice or pottage, or you buy dough nut. It is now that something new is starting in NIJ, it’s really good because it gives the students an advantage”

In a conversation with Mrs. Titilayo Green, the director of T-Green Event Management on how she has been coping for the last three days, she expressed her joy judging from her rapport with students, saying she is really blessed to be in NIJ.

“I am really blessed to be here. Personally, I’m a jovial person. I mingle up with people easily, either one has bad character or good character.”

When asked based on the rate students have been patronizing her, she lauded them saying “they’ve been praising me especially the cold drinks and snacks because all what they’ve been saying is that, it is only food they’ve been buying here. So, they are happy to see me here as well.”

However, Mrs. Titilayo said there will be a need for the SRC or school management to make her a conducive environment by providing a container or something better ahead of the rainy season.

To improve on her service, she appreciated the advices and ideas from students. She explained that she has her boundary because of the laid down instruction which is selling “quick things” and not food. She said she is ready to attend to the students’ need by bringing in fruits and other varieties that will be of help to the general well being of the students without breaching the agreement.

According to KCEE, he said, “There is not yet real competitor because the cafeteria sells food while they (TGreen) sell only snacks. I want the cafeteria to have real competitors. We cannot be eating only Coke and Gala. Until they start selling other foods that is when I will see them as real competitors.”
